Introduction
A wheelchair is a manually operated or power-driven device designed primarily for use by an individual with a mobility disability for the main purpose of indoor, or of both indoor and outdoor, locomotion. The device consists of variants either it uses motor or a seated user operates it by turning the rear wheels manually. Often there is a handle at the back of the wheelchair so that a person could help the user of the wheelchair to move around.
A basic wheelchair user also has issue with reaching stuff that is placed in high place. Therefore, designing a wheelchair that can be converted into standing wheelchair and into a recliner wheelchair helps to solve this problems. The design helps to convert it without the user to get up.
Project Objective
-
To design a wheelchair that able to automatically change into reclining and standing position.
-
To create a wheelchair that safe to use and have a high durability and strong.
-
To produce a wheelchair that lightweight, cheap, and easy to use.
1. Currently wheelchair that available in market is not capability to satisfied patient that capability in doing their daily work limited due to inability of paralysed body.
2. User need something that support their body in standing and recliner position which enable them to do many thing without concern of their safety.
3. Wheelchair that capable to do standing and recliner position with high safety is highly expensive and lack of safety. Thus, will limited the patient option in buying the wheelchair due to price concern and trust issue.
4. Thus, this project should provide the solutions both to the patients and the movement.

Manual Wheelchair

This wheelchair is powered by the use of the user’s hands. By grabbing the handling around the wheels, the user propels the chair forward, backward, and pivots as well. In addition, manual wheelchairs can be pushed by someone else standing behind the wheelchair user. For this reason, manual chairs have handles located behind the backrest. Manual wheelchairs are great for people who can operate them independently. However, the disadvantage is the users can quickly become fatigued especially if they are travelled long distances or moving around for an extended period of time on their own
Foldable Wheelchair

The design of this wheelchair is similar to manual wheelchair but this wheelchair can fold. It can easily fold up for storage or transport in the back of a car, and the footrests can be clipped off. To reduce the weight and size further, the wheels can be popped off at the press of a button so the wheel can be release. It is very lightweight and can easily lifted by a single person
Electric Wheelchair

This wheelchair also known as motorized wheelchair. It is powered by electric, battery-operated wheelchairs that propel the user forward by use of controls. A motorized wheelchair like this resolves the issue of fatigue as well as disabilities that restrict the use of manually operated wheelchairs. Users of this wheelchair can go further without tiring and gain more independence when operating a manual chair is difficult or impossible. Some of the downsides are it is heavier and bulkier than manual wheelchairs
PROBLEM DEFINITION
” Designing something that helps the people. Now you can feel the stand.”
